Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TurnItOff websites, apps, and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who we are

The Service is provided by Skillled Ltd (company number 15047813), registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.

Contact: legal@turnitoff.app · Support: support@turnitoff.app.

Who the Service is for

TurnItOff is intended for parents or legal guardians who want to manage screen limits on a child's Android device. The parent creates and controls the account. The child device is paired and managed by the parent — children do not need their own login.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create a parent account.

Your responsibilities

What the Service does

TurnItOff lets parents pause a child's screen, set scheduled limits, and view summary usage information. Features depend on the child device having the TurnItOff app installed, required Android permissions granted, and a working network connection. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation — locks may be delayed or fail if the device is offline, permissions are revoked, or the OS restricts background services.

Trials, subscriptions, cancellation & refunds

New parent accounts typically receive a 14-day free trial. After the trial (or when entitlement otherwise ends), a paid subscription is required to continue using parental control features.

Prices and plan details are shown at checkout. Billing periods renew automatically until you cancel according to the store or portal rules (cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated).

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law (including rights that cannot be excluded or limited).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Account & data

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. You may delete your parent account in the app; that removes associated devices and server-side data as described in the Privacy Policy (including automatic deletion of hourly screen-time history after 45 days).

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. TurnItOff is a parental tool, not emergency services, childcare, or a substitute for supervision. Emergency call access on the child device is provided where supported by the OS, but we do not guarantee emergency dialling will work in all situations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, device malfunction, or a child accessing content while the device is unlocked. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the Service is free).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Changes & termination

We may update these Terms or the Service from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where mandatory consumer protection laws allow.
