Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
TurnItOff ("we", "us") provides parental screen-limit tools. This policy describes what our apps and website at turnitoff.app do with information.
Roles
- Parent — the account holder who signs in (email or Google) and controls child devices.
- Child device — a paired Android phone running the child app. The child is not the account holder; the parent configures limits.
What we collect
- Parent account: email, name and profile photo from Google sign-in (if used), account identifiers.
- Child device: app-generated device ID, push notification token (FCM), device label, battery level, lock/schedule status, hourly screen-on minutes (not per-app usage).
- Technical: data needed to send lock commands and keep devices in sync (via Supabase and Firebase Cloud Messaging).
What we do not collect
- We do not sell personal data to advertisers.
- We do not use marketing or tracking cookies on child devices.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
- We do not collect lists of installed applications.
- We do not collect location/GPS data.
- We do not send crash reports to third-party analytics services.
The child app may read which app is in the foreground on the device only to enforce the lock screen (e.g. block Settings). That information is not uploaded as an app list.
How we use data
To pair devices, apply screen pauses and schedules, show usage summaries to the parent, and operate the service. Push tokens are used only to deliver lock/sync commands, not ads.
Retention & deletion
Data is kept while your account and paired devices exist. Parents can delete their account in the app, which removes associated devices and usage data. We plan to add automatic purging of screen-time history older than 30 days; until that is live, hourly usage rows may persist until account deletion.
Third parties
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Google — optional Google sign-in; Firebase Cloud Messaging for push.
